What is the County Central Committee?

The County Central Committee — also called the Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) — is the governing body for the Democratic party in Los Angeles County. LACDP's mission is to make endorsements of candidates and ballot measures, conduct voter education and registration, protect the right to vote, and work to elect candidates who will fight for our core Democratic values.

County Committee Members are elected every four years during the Democratic Primary Election to represent the Democrats of each assembly district in the county. There are 7 members elected from each district. The Committee generally meets monthly, and members are not compensated.
